I WAS REMINDED OF THAT SCHOOLYARD saying the last couple of days:
“Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me.”
Phil Mickelson has sticks and “Bones” (caddie Jim Mackay), who he calls a class act. It’s Tiger’s sticks that hurt far more golfers than anything his caddie could say.

For those who missed the story earlier in the week, Tiger’s caddie, Steve Williams, said of Phil Mickelson, “I think he’s a prick.” Woods addressed the situation a second time, commenting in his Wednesday press conference, “Yeah, what ended up happening is I communicated with Phil, and we have discussed it. I talked to Stevie about it, and he feels bad, what happened. It’s something that none of us really wanted to have happen, but it’s over and done with and we put it to bed.”

Ha, well said. This is so schoolyard. It’s like this:
Kid A to Kid B: Your dad is a jerk and no one likes him.
Kid B’s Dad: Kid A’s dad is a worthless bum for having a kid like you.
Instead of being an adult and just letting it go – Phil had to take a shot back both at Steve and Tiger. No surprise coming from FIGJAM.
I would have to take a shot back as well. I would have a tough time letting something like that go. Think Tiger would have reacted if Bones said something – no way.
This story irritated me. Made me think of that one loony tunes cartoon with the big bull dog and the little bull dog who was always jumping up and down saying “ain’t that right spike, ol buddy, old pal of mine?” Seems to me that ol Steve Williams is merely mimicking Tiger’s feeling towards Phil and only reacting to being “disrespected.” Behavior like that, I assumed was far below the world’s best golfer’s caddie, guess I assume too much….
