If you play in tournaments, what is your favorite tournament format? Scramble? Partners best ball? Playing your own ball?
I don’t play in many tournaments, so I do enjoy scrambles. If you hit a good shot, you help your team. If you hit a bad shot, it’s no big deal, which is the way it should be under any circumstances. (But that’s easier said than done.)

Our annual Father/Son tournament on Father's Day (Natch) has a stroke play foursome format. That is true alternate shot and Matt and I started when he was seven years-old. We shot "above average IQ" numbers. Now we get it in the 70's, but we always have a serious blow up hole (or two) and we have never won. Pisses me off because my best friend and his son have with us every year and they have won twice (low net only).
That's not a format for normal play and not a format to be played with a friend as a partner.
