  1. What crap no contigency plan for a rainout.3rd rate coverage. Have to turn to a US station watch the senior open MUCH BETTER COVERAGE.Will find out who won Mon morning from the newspaper

  2. CBS is broadcasting the weekend rounds and are following their normal format for a PGA event.

I give CBS credit for doing a great job…

The Golf Channel/TSN and CBS have the broadcast rights … if we want to get this "Open" to the level it was in the 70's and 80's it boils down to cash … RBC and the other sponsors have put a lot into this event -the RCGA I feel still needs to improve at how this is put out to the public.
Even if you are not a golf fan, this is and should be a "HUGE" annual event to all of Canada. Support through Lotto's, Sports Canada -Kids benefit from all types of sport, we have the most golfer's per-capita of any country in the world – surely more can be done to make this a National Celebration as opposed to just another PGA event.
It's not CBS's fault ..nor the golf channel or tsn. The Sponsor support is good and I'm not even sure it is the RCGA's fault the "Canadian Open" is not what it can or used to be.

Maybe we all need to put "Canadian Open" flags on our car antennas every July and keep complaining we want more … it's a great event and every Canadian should be celebrating it.

  3. Because as far as the PGA is concerned, it is not a real tournament. It is also being held in Toronto and everyone hates Toronto. There is more coverage of the seniors open than there is of the Cdn Open. No one cares and the big names don't play here any more. The Cdn open also used to travel all over the country. Now it is held in Glen Abbey and it is just not interesting enough to hold the attention of regular golf fans.

In other words, the coverage is short because nobody cares about our little tournament. Least of all the networks and sponsors.
