SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS OF TV COVERAGE are scheduled for the RICOH Women’s British Open this week at Sunningdale Golf Club in Berkshire, England. (Seven hours and 28 minutes to be exact. TNT signs off at 11:59 a.m. Must be their lunch time.)
That’s not much coverage for a major, but this is the ongoing situation with the lady professionals. It’s tough being the minor attraction in a minor sport.

I’m appalled at the lack of coverage for a women’s major, especially the last major of a legend, Annika Sorenstam. We have Tiger Week the entire week before a men’s major and then full coverage of the major, followed sometimes by repeat telecasts of the last round if he is in the final grouping. Can you imagine the outrage if the coverage for Tiger’s final major was only a 2-hour tape delay per round on non-major networks?
Women Golf Too: As a golf fan, including women’s golf fan, I don’t like it either.
