2008 Ryder Cup: Wind Storm at Valhalla

2008 Ryder Cup: Wind Storm at Valhalla 1A WIND STORM SWEPT THROUGH LOUISVILLE this afternoon and blew down trees and a TV tower at Valhalla Golf Club, site of this week’s Ryder Cup matches. It’s not expected to affect the event, though.

“We got tree limbs, but we’ll take care of it,” course superintendent Mark Wilson was quoted as saying in the Courier-Journal. “We’ll wait for the wind storm to get over and take care of business. I’m pretty confident that by Tuesday you won’t know anything about it.”

The Courier-Journal is the hometown paper of Louisville, Kentucky, where the Ryder Cup will be played. They have an extensive 2008 Ryder Cup section here.

I head to Louisville on Tuesday and will be at Valhalla on Wednesday.
