AFTER THE FIRST ROUND of the 2008 BMW Championship was officially postponed this morning, Hunter Mahan made an appearance in the media center. Many of the questions centered on his Ryder Cup selection.

A captain’s pick and Ryder Cup rookie, Mahan said you can’t really prepare for the pressure of the Ryder Cup if you haven’t played in one. You just have to go out and have fun.

Hunter is looking forward to the challenge, and noted that his 2007 Presidents Cup experience will help, although he admitted it’s not the Ryder Cup. It means much more to win the Ryder Cup, he said.

But it’s still golf, Mahan added, and he’ll focus on just trying to play his best without putting too much pressure on himself.
